The History of Paint Pouring!
Wow! Did you know that the painting technique called pouring started way back in the 1930s? And we thought it was all so new, right? Mexican muralist painter, David Alfaro Siqueiros called it his "accidental painting" technique. Here's a video by an art historian and physicist about Siqueiros' technique. If you don't know about Siqueros, check him out online...an interesting political activist and great painter!

It’s a natural process and the starting point for transferring ideas, thoughts or feelings into action, through those drawings and paintings.

Painting from a Photos is what a lot of artists do, they love a scene they've taken a picture of in the landscape or want to copy something they really like, it's one way of creating a painting.. When I'm teaching I usually try and encourage students to put their own spin on it and make it their own.
